Having secured TOGAF™ certification for its globally adopted modeling software the Corporate Modeler Suite, Casewise is proud to announce the release of the Casewise TOGAF extension, the latest addition to its extensive and highly regarded library of models and frameworks.
Casewise has transformed the entire TOGAF Enterprise Edition Book into an easy and ready to use model providing both a graphical representation and full textual guidance of the TOGAF ADM (Architecture Development Method). The model offers a number of key features including:
- Diagrams of the ADM
- Built-in object associations
- Detailed mappings to the Casewise (Zachman) Framework
- Technical Reference Model (TRM)
- Template diagrams and matrices
As an added feature, the extension also includes the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF).
The ADM is the ‘heart’ of TOGAF and includes the step-by-step approach to Enterprise Architecture according to the Open Group whilst the Casewise Corporate Modeler repository is used for the Enterprise Continuum of TOGAF.
The Casewise TOGAF extension can be implemented via two different starting points, the ADM or the Casewise Framework. Users can choose which approach to take, or switch at any time between the two. Whether implementing the framework on a standalone basis or as part of a multi-user environment, certain individuals may adopt one platform (ADM) whilst others may work off the Casewise Framework with all parties linked together in the same model.
When using the ADM approach, a user can explode the inputs and outputs to create diagrams to describe an architecture. When using the Casewise Framework, with its robust functionality, a user can right click on any cell and immediately jump to the associated TOGAF ADM inputs and outputs. Each cell provides full advice and guidance on what kind of diagram to use (Process Flow, Hierarchy etc…) and how to gather information from it.
Overall, the Casewise Framework provides an enterprise with a comprehensive framework within which, architectural processes can be mapped. The easy to use Casewise framework shows how, by using Corporate Modeler, an enterprise model can be created.
